Maria was first generation Americans settling in Chicago’s Mafia focused area known as Cicero. Her parents arranged for her marriage to Tony Capusopolli, Bobby’s nephew who was being groomed to take over as the head of the “family”. Maria’s dreams were to go to college and open an elite retail store on Michigan Avenue.
Instead Maria married into the mob but was very, very unhappy. When one of the lieutenant’s wives goes into the witness protection program and gets killed, Maria decides it’s time to escape. She obtains assistance from a priest in her parish and leaves with a couple of million in diamonds, laundered money and stamps.
Maria disappears and reinvents herself. However she can’t move on with her life knowing the Capusopolli family was still out there harming and killing people. She goes back to testify and only then Maria realizes the gifts from the Mob that will ultimately assist her in finding love and making her dreams come true…

i really loved this story about a young women who shows that a young italian women could be smart and strong and well as willing to go to any length to have the life she all ways wanted and deserved even though she was married to the mob. her escape showed intelligence and planning in doing the right things while building a new life under the shadow of the mob looking for her. i would love a second book after this one. i look forward to reading other books by this author.Product details

Awesome book, suspenseful and moving, didn't want to put it down. Great story, the details were great and well thought out. Can't wait for another one by these authors. This is a book anyone would enjoy no matter what type of books you like.
A great read. Fast moving, suspenseful at times with unexpected twists in the story. I was captured with the main character Maria and her ability to change from a quiet, obedient girl into a resourseful, powerful woman.
I loved the book and couldn't put it down. I was interested from the very start. A real page turner.
What an awesome read. I enjoyed the story from start to finish. The characters were very well thought out and the storyline kept the pages turning.
It was suspenseful and exciting. A happy ending. Most enjoyable. It was well written and very believable. I wondered If the author actually knew a person like this or could it possible have been total fiction. It sure seemed real.
